In a time of back-to-back Esports news and updates that are changing the global gaming community, the latest news on Mobile Legends Bang Bang is a much-welcome development. We've had to deal with cancellations of major events, sunsetting much-anticipated game titles, and a bit of uncertainty, but MLBB takes us away from all the negativity with their Project Next Express 2023 announcement.
Here's what it's all about:
All Eyes on Mobile Legends Bang Bang's Layla
It's safe to say she's often the center of attraction in the Mobile Legends universe. And now she's going to receive a huge character upgrade in this upcoming update. Layla already got a character update during the first rounds of the Project NEXT upgrade from three years ago. The concept behind Project NEXT is to enhance the heroes in the Mobile Legends roster and the game's mechanics.
So what changes are we expecting to MLBB's Layla?
Thanks to her Eruditio origins backstory, Layla's dressing will now be portrayed as a schoolgirl with cleaner textures and a brighter palette of colors. These elements are meant to illustrate Eruditio's renown for science and vast knowledge. There will also be more focus on her weapons, particularly her steampunk gun. Staying true to the Mobile Legends game lore, the gun’s appearance will be more fragile but still pack a punch with a robust effect. Layla is said to experience some difficulties firing her gun, due to it being unfinished.
There is a lot of emphasis on backstories with this update, and Layla gets a new pendant around her waist to remind her of her mother and past memories. She also gets a transparent futuristic spectacle, added to give her a new look.
With the update's focus on her origins, players will gain more knowledge about Eruditio's famous landmarks, including the Spire of Knowledge, the Underground Ruins, and the Canal Quarter.
What Else Is Coming?
The full details on the Project Next update are still pretty much unknown beyond the plans for Layla. What we're sure of is that she's not the only character getting a revamp. We're looking at improvements for Atlas, Franco, Eudora, X-Borg, Faramis and Karrie. The improvements vary from appearance to skillset, and while a lot is still in beta stage, we can expect some exciting news soon.
